Koobo started on Siargao, and we've taken the same approach to every place we cover: guides written by people on the ground, with real prices, honest advice and the details you only learn by living there. Pick a destination below, or browse them all if you're still deciding where to go.
Siargao is where it began. It's the island that put Philippine surfing on the map with Cloud 9, and General Luna is the base for most trips, with island hopping, rock pools and a food scene that's grown up around the surf crowd. La Union is Manila's surf town, six hours north by bus, with beginner waves at Urbiztondo, sunset on the beach and Ilocano cooking.
Siquijor is a short ferry ride from Dumaguete, small enough to loop by scooter in a day, with waterfalls, cliff jumps and a reputation for healers and folklore. Mati, four hours east of Davao City, is built around Dahican, a long Pacific beach of resorts, surf camps and weekend crowds, with the calm islands of Pujada Bay on the other side.
Each destination has area-by-area guides on where to stay, what to eat, how to get there and when to go. Prices and timetables change, so confirm before you travel.
