How to Get to Siquijor in 2026: Flights, Ferries and Routes

Getting to Siquijor in 2026

Siquijor is a small island south of Cebu and east of Negros. Most people still arrive by boat, landing at Siquijor Port in Siquijor town or at Larena Port on the north coast. Since December 2025 you can also fly in direct from Cebu.

Prices, fares and schedules in this post were checked in October 2026. They change often, especially with fuel surcharges and the seasons, so use them as a guide and confirm with the operator or venue before you travel.

Below is every practical route, with fares, travel times and what to expect when you land.

The Short Answer

Coming through Cebu on a flight day? Fly direct with Sunlight Air, the only airline serving the island, in about 55 minutes. On other days, or from Manila, fly to Dumaguete and take the ferry across, which is under an hour on a fastcraft.

At a glance

From Manila: fly to Dumaguete, about 1.5 hours, then the ferry. Allow 5 to 6 hours door to door.

From Cebu: fly direct with Sunlight Air in about 55 minutes, three days a week, with 10% off for Koobo guests using KOOBO10. Or take OceanJet via Tagbilaran, about 4 hours.

From Bohol: OceanJet from Tagbilaran, about 2 hours.

Leaving: ₱50 per person Tourism Ecological Fee, paid on the way out, not on arrival.

From Cebu: Fly Direct

Fly direct with Sunlight Air

Sunlight Air started the first commercial flights to Siquijor in December 2025. It flies nonstop from Mactan-Cebu International Airport three times a week, on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays at last check, on an ATR 72 that takes about 55 minutes. Base fares start from ₱488 one way before taxes and fees, with 7 kg of carry-on included.

The schedule has already changed once since launch, so check the airline's site before you plan around it. Siquijor's airport is closest to Siquijor town and Larena, and tricycles wait outside.

OceanJet via Tagbilaran

OceanJet runs Cebu City to Siquijor via Tagbilaran, Bohol, twice a day at 5:10am and 1:00pm. You stay on board in Tagbilaran, and the whole trip takes about 4 hours. Since the September 2026 fuel surcharge, each leg costs ₱960 in tourist class, so budget roughly ₱1,920 end to end.

Slow ferries to Larena

Lite Ferries sails from Cebu Pier 3 to Larena on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1:00pm, arriving around 11:00pm. Starlite runs an overnight trip on Friday, roughly 9pm to 5am. Fares run ₱635 to ₱920.

Maayo Shipping also crosses from Liloan in southern Cebu to Larena, usually in the early hours; buy tickets at the port, as the schedule changes often. Slow boats suit people with a vehicle or a tight budget.

Overland via Negros

You can also take a bus south from Cebu City, cross by short ferry to Negros, and carry on to Dumaguete for the boat to Siquijor. It takes most of a day, so only do it if you want to see southern Cebu on the way.

From Manila

Fly to Dumaguete

Cebu Pacific flies nonstop from Manila to Dumaguete several times a day, about 1 hour 30 minutes. Dumaguete Airport (DGT) is in Sibulan, just north of the city. A tricycle to the port takes 15 to 30 minutes and costs about ₱120 to ₱150.

By ship

2GO Travel sails from Manila to Dumaguete once a week, leaving on Sunday evening and arriving early on Tuesday, according to its published schedule. It is slow, but the luggage allowance is generous. Check 2GO's booking site for current fares.

From Dumaguete

Dumaguete is the main gateway, with boats through the day. OceanJet, Montenegro Lines and a few fastcraft operators run the route, landing mostly at Siquijor Port, with some slower boats and car ferries using Larena.

OceanJet

The quickest option, about 30 to 50 minutes to Siquijor Port. Since 21 September 2026, with a temporary 10% fuel surcharge, fares are ₱420 in tourist or open-air class and ₱700 in business. In August 2026 OceanJet listed five daily trips from Dumaguete, at 7:20am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 5:30pm and 7:10pm.

Tickets carry your name, so bring your passport or ID. Buying at the counter is cheapest: online booking adds a 10% fee, and checked suitcases cost ₱50 to ₱100.

Slower boats and car ferries

Anika Star fastcraft takes about 1.5 hours, from about ₱570, four times a day. Montenegro Lines runs RoRo car ferries in about 1 to 1.5 hours, and its fares vary a lot between listings, so ask at the port. Take the RoRo if you are bringing a vehicle.

Check the day's schedule

Fuel shortages in 2026 led OceanJet to cancel its earliest trips for weeks at a time, and other trips were cut in April and August. Don't count on a first boat time; check the schedule the day before. Dumaguete also charges a small terminal fee, about ₱15.

Check which port your ticket goes to. Siquijor Port is closer to San Juan, where most visitors stay. Larena is further away on the north coast.

From Bohol

OceanJet runs two trips a day from Tagbilaran to Siquijor, at 7:30am and 3:20pm, taking about 2 hours. The fare is ₱960 in tourist class and ₱1,440 in business since the September surcharge. It is the easiest way to combine Bohol and Siquijor in one trip.

When You Arrive

Scooter rental stands, tricycles and vans wait at Siquijor Port when boats come in. Most visitors stay in San Juan, about 20 to 30 minutes south of the port, and a tricycle there costs about ₱350. Coco Grove includes pier transfers for its guests.

Scooter

Roughly ₱300 to ₱500 a day for a standard automatic, usually with a small deposit, fuel extra. Helmets are required by law. Carry your licence, because most travel insurance won't cover a scooter crash without one.

Tricycle or van

Tricycles cover short hops, and a full-day tricycle tour of the island runs about ₱1,000 to ₱2,500 for the vehicle, depending on the route and group size. Many resorts arrange pickups if you ask.

Fees to Know

Tourism Ecological Fee

Since 1 February 2026, Siquijor has collected a ₱50 Tourism Ecological Fee per person when you leave the island, not when you arrive. You pay at booths outside the Siquijor Port ticketing building or in the airport departure area. Seniors and students pay ₱40, and children aged 6 and under and residents with ID are exempt.

Port terminal fees

Expect small terminal fees at the ports, about ₱15 at Dumaguete. Keep small notes handy.

Timing and Tips

Book ahead at busy times

Boats and rooms fill up from December to May, around Holy Week and on long weekends. Over Holy Week and Christmas to New Year, book ferries one to two weeks ahead.

Days with no ferries

No boats run to or from Siquijor on 25 December, 1 January or Good Friday. Don't plan an arrival or departure on those days.

Weather

Storms don't stick to a neat season here. Typhoons shut sea travel in late October and early November 2025, and a July 2026 storm cancelled Dumaguete trips. Check the forecast and ferry status before you travel, and leave slack in your connections.

At the port

Arrive about an hour before departure with your passport or a valid ID.
