How to Get to Siargao in 2026: Flights, Ferries & Transfers

Siargao has one airport, Sayak (IAO), in Del Carmen on the island's west side, and one main seaport at Dapa. Every route in ends at one of those two.

The short version: fly via Cebu if you can. It's the fastest and usually cheapest way in. The details below cover Manila, Cebu, and the sea routes, plus what to do once you land.

There are no direct flights from Manila's main airport (NAIA) to Siargao. You have three options.

Via Cebu. The most common route. Fly Manila to Cebu, then take the 55-minute hop to Sayak. A single protected itinerary typically runs ₱3,500 to ₱6,500 one way, and connections are frequent enough that a morning departure gets you to the island by afternoon.

From Clark. Philippine Airlines and Cebgo fly to Siargao from Clark International, north of Manila. If Clark is easier for you than NAIA, this skips the connection entirely.

By ferry. New for 2026: 2GO runs a ferry from Manila's Pier 4 to Siargao, departing Mondays and arriving Wednesdays, with fares from about ₱4,100 including meals. Slow, but it's the budget route with a bed.

Cebu is the main gateway. Cebu Pacific, Cebgo, and Philippine Airlines all fly the 55-minute route to Sayak daily. Book early in peak season, September to November, when seats and prices climb.

There's no direct ferry from Cebu. If you'd rather sail, you route through Surigao City on the mainland instead.

Ferries and fast craft run daily between Surigao City and Dapa, taking roughly 2.5 to 4 hours depending on the vessel and the sea. It's the standard route for overlanders and a solid backup when flights are full.

Dapa port sits about 20 minutes from General Luna. Tricycles wait at the pier and charge ₱250 to ₱300 to town. Our Dapa guide has the full port rundown.

Sayak Airport sits about 45 minutes from General Luna. A shared van is around ₱300 per person and drops you along the main strip. A private van runs ₱2,000 to ₱2,500, and a tricycle ₱500 to ₱800 for up to four people.

Book your first night before you land. Most stays cluster in General Luna, and you can browse places to stay there on Koobo. If you're renting a motorbike for the trip, arrange it ahead so it's ready when you arrive.

Flights sell out around the Cloud 9 Surfing Cup in late September and through the peak surf months, so book those windows well ahead.

Weather can ground flights and cancel ferries, especially in the wet season from December to February. Leave slack in your connections, and avoid booking a same-day international connection on your way out.
