How to Get to Siargao in 2026: Flights, Ferries & Transfers

Siargao has one airport, Sayak (IAO) in Del Carmen, and one main passenger port, Dapa, on the south coast. Every route onto the island ends at one of the two.

Prices, fares and schedules in this post were checked in October 2026. They change often, especially with fuel surcharges and the seasons, so use them as a guide and confirm with the operator or venue before you travel.

A lot changed in 2026. There are no longer any flights from Manila's NAIA, Philippine Airlines has stopped flying from Clark, and a new airline now flies in from both Cebu and Clark. This guide covers every route that works today, with fares, travel times and the last leg to General Luna. Last checked October 2026.

Fly to Cebu, then take the 55-minute flight to Sayak. Cebu has the most daily flights to Siargao and three airlines on the route, so if one flight is cancelled there is usually another the same day. Sunlight Air flies to Siargao from both Cebu and Clark, and Koobo guests get 10% off with the code KOOBO10 (details below).

At a glance

From Manila: about 4 to 5 hours via Cebu, or 2 hours by bus to Clark plus a direct flight of about 2 hours 20 minutes.

From Cebu: 55 minutes in the air, then about an hour by van from Sayak to General Luna.

Cheapest: the weekly 2GO ship from Manila, about 29 hours, or the overnight ferry from Cebu to Surigao plus a fastcraft to Dapa.

Budget: Cebu to Siargao usually costs ₱1,300 to ₱2,000 one way as a base fare when booked a few weeks ahead. Fuel surcharges, fees and checked bags can more than double that, so compare the final checkout price, not the headline fare.

There is no direct flight from Manila's NAIA to Siargao. Siargao is served by turboprop aircraft, and those flights have been moved out of NAIA. Cebgo moved its Manila flights to Clark in March 2025, and Philippine Airlines followed on 29 March 2026. You have three options.

Option 1: Fly via Cebu (easiest)

Fly NAIA to Cebu, about 1 hour 25 minutes, then connect to Siargao. Allow at least 2 hours between flights, more if you are arriving on an international flight. Philippine Airlines uses NAIA Terminal 2 for Cebu and Cebu Pacific uses Terminal 3, so check which terminal your first flight leaves from.

Option 2: Fly from Clark

Clark is the only airport on Luzon with a direct flight to Siargao. Sunlight Air started flying Clark to Siargao in April 2026 and operates several times a week, and Cebgo flies the route about twice a day. For travellers from Metro Manila and the north, Sunlight Air from Clark is the simplest way in: one flight, no connection in Cebu. Philippine Airlines suspended its own Clark to Siargao flights from 4 May 2026 because of fuel costs, with no date to resume.

P2P buses run from NAIA Terminal 3 and Trinoma to Clark in about 2 to 2.5 hours, for roughly ₱310 to ₱450. Factor that ride and an early check-in into your plans.

Option 3: The 2GO ship

2GO Travel sails once a week from Manila to Siargao on the MV St. Francis Xavier. Its published schedule shows a Monday 6:30 PM departure arriving Tuesday at 11:30 PM, about 29 hours. The return leaves Siargao on Wednesday at 2:30 AM and reaches Manila on Friday morning, stopping on the way. Gates close an hour before departure. Fares change with fuel surcharges, so check 2GO's booking site. It suits people with time to spare or a lot of luggage.

Cebu is the main gateway. Sunlight Air, Cebgo (Cebu Pacific) and Philippine Airlines all fly from Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Sayak, with several departures a day, mostly in the morning and early afternoon. The flight takes about 55 minutes. Sunlight Air includes a 7 kg carry-on in its fares, and Koobo guests save 10% with KOOBO10.

Cebu also has direct international flights from cities including Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei, so many overseas visitors skip Manila altogether.

By sea from Cebu

There is no direct ferry from Cebu to Siargao. Overnight ferries run from Cebu City to Surigao City in about 8 to 10 hours, leaving around 9 PM, with reclining seats from about ₱1,200. OceanJet also runs a daytime fastcraft to Surigao via Maasin, about 5.5 hours. From Surigao, take the fastcraft to Dapa, covered below.

Cebgo flies from Davao to Siargao about once a day, a flight of roughly 1 hour 15 minutes. Seats are limited, so book early.

Overland, you can take a bus from Davao to Butuan, then a van to Surigao City and the fastcraft to Dapa. It takes most of a day. Flying into Butuan and taking a van to Surigao, about 2 to 3 hours, is a useful backup when flights to Siargao are sold out.

Everyone travelling by sea ends up in Surigao City on the Mindanao mainland. From there, boats cross to Dapa port on Siargao every day.

Fastcraft

Evaristo & Sons runs the main fastcraft service, about 1.5 hours, with fares of roughly ₱420 to ₱520. A recent weekly schedule showed Surigao departures at 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM, and Dapa departures at 6:00 AM, 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. SJ & G Shipping Lines also lists a 5:30 AM departure from Surigao, from about ₱480.

RORO

Slower car ferries from Montenegro Shipping Lines and Evaristo & Sons take around 2 hours or more and carry vehicles. Montenegro lists a regular fare of about ₱432.

Schedules change week to week and with the weather, so check the day before. Miss the last afternoon boat and you will spend the night in Surigao.

Dapa to General Luna

Dapa is about 20 to 30 minutes from General Luna. Tricycles at the port charge around ₱250 to ₱300, and shared vans about ₱300 per person. Agree the price before you set off. The Dapa guide has more on the port.

Sayak Airport is in Del Carmen on the island's west side, about 45 minutes to an hour by road from General Luna, where most visitors stay.

Shared van

White shared vans wait outside arrivals and leave when full. Expect around ₱300 to ₱400 per person. Extra charges can apply for surfboards and excess luggage.

Private van

Around ₱2,000 to ₱2,700 for the whole vehicle, more for door-to-door service outside General Luna. Worth it for groups, late arrivals and anyone with boards.

Tricycle and habal-habal

Possible, but slow and uncomfortable with luggage on a 45-minute road.

Several sources report a ₱20 environmental fee collected in cash as you leave the airport lot, so keep a small note handy.

The details

Dates when the code does not apply

21 to 24 August 2026, 28 to 31 August 2026, 24 October to 3 November 2026, 27 to 30 November 2026, 4 to 8 December 2026, 21 December 2026 to 5 January 2027, 20 to 29 March 2027, and 8 to 12 April 2027.

These blackout dates cover Undas and the semestral break, Christmas and Holy Week, so plan around them if you want the discount.

Why fares look cheap then are not

A 2026 jet fuel crisis pushed up fuel surcharges across Philippine airlines. Headline fares exclude the surcharge, taxes, admin fees and checked baggage. Compare the total at checkout.

When to book early

Flights fill up for the WSL Philippines Pro at Cloud 9, running 31 October to 10 November 2026, and over Christmas, New Year, Holy Week and summer school holidays. Book these dates as early as you can.

Weather

Sayak is a small, turboprop-only airport, and bad weather can delay or cancel flights, especially from November to February. Take a morning flight where you can, avoid tight international connections, and keep a buffer day. The Surigao to Dapa boats are a backup when flights are cancelled, but they stop for small-craft advisories too.

Surfboards

Airlines limit board size and the number of boards per flight on these small aircraft. Check your airline's sports equipment rules and add the board when you book.

The airport terminal

A larger passenger terminal at Sayak broke ground in August 2025. Reports differ on whether it is fully open, so allow extra time at check-in in peak season.

Manila to General Luna via Cebu

Morning flight NAIA to Cebu, connect to Sayak around midday, shared van to General Luna by mid-afternoon. About 5 to 7 hours door to door.

Manila to General Luna via Clark

Early P2P bus to Clark, direct Sunlight Air flight to Sayak, van to General Luna. About 6 to 7 hours door to door.

Cebu to General Luna by sea

Overnight ferry to Surigao, first fastcraft to Dapa, tricycle to General Luna. About 12 to 14 hours.

Is there a direct flight from Manila to Siargao?

Not from NAIA. Since March 2026 the only direct flights from the Manila area leave from Clark, on Sunlight Air and Cebgo. Most people fly Manila to Cebu and connect.

Which airlines fly to Siargao?

Sunlight Air from Cebu and Clark, Cebgo (Cebu Pacific) from Cebu, Clark and Davao, and Philippine Airlines from Cebu. AirAsia does not fly to Siargao.
