Where to Stay in Siquijor: The Best Areas Compared

Picking a Base on Siquijor

Siquijor is small, but where you sleep still shapes your trip. There is one coast road around the island, and outside San Juan the evenings get very quiet very early. Here is how the main areas compare.

Prices, fares and schedules in this post were checked in October 2026. They change often, especially with fuel surcharges and the seasons, so use them as a guide and confirm with the operator or venue before you travel.

Prices at a Glance

Budget rooms and dorms run roughly ₱500 to ₱1,500 a night, mid-range resorts ₱2,000 to ₱5,000, and upscale stays ₱5,000 to ₱10,000 or more. High season runs roughly November to May, and Christmas, New Year and Holy Week are the busiest weeks of all.

Book ahead for those dates. The Provincial Tourism Office has reported room shortages in peak season, and some resorts set a two-night minimum over the holidays.

San Juan

San Juan, on the south-west coast, is where most visitors base themselves. It has the widest choice of rooms, it is the island's hub for food and nightlife, and the sunsets face you. If this is your first trip and you want to eat out every night, stay here.

The town spreads along the coast through Tubod, Maite, Paliton and Solangon. Tubod has the marine sanctuary, Maite has several of the best-known restaurants, and Paliton has the sunset beach.

Where to look

Coco Grove Beach Resort in Tubod is the long-running big name, with an 800 m beach, three restaurants, pools and a dive shop. Rooms start at ₱5,600 a night for two, including breakfast, tax, pier transfers and Tubod sanctuary fees, and run to ₱13,000 for a beachfront villa.

For something smaller, Nakabalo sits up in the hills with an infinity pool, and Bermuda Triangle Bungalows is 200 m from Maite Beach. Coral Cay Resort in Solangon is a mid-range option. On a backpacker budget, Fable Hostel is 600 m from Paliton with dorms from about US$7, while Islanders Hostel is the party pick, karaoke noise included.

Siquijor Town

The capital and main port, with banks, the island's biggest Sunday market and budget guesthouses. It is a practical stop for a night before or after a ferry, less so for a beach holiday. Dalakit House, about 8 minutes from the port, has Starlink if you need to work. See the Siquijor town guide.

Larena and Sandugan

Larena is the second port, on the north coast, where the slow ferries from Cebu dock. It has a big supermarket and the island's only college, and it is the cheapest town for rooms: Townview Guest House runs about ₱1,420 a night.

Nearby Sandugan has a few beach resorts and dive-focused stays. Both are quiet, and food options after dark are thin. See the Larena guide.

Lazi and Maria

Lazi puts you close to Cambugahay Falls and the old church and convent. Lazi Beach Club Resort gets good marks for value, and Siquijor Summit Resort is around ₱3,328 a night.

Maria, on the east coast near Salagdoong Beach, is the quietest of all, with only a handful of places to stay and limited food. Both towns suit travellers who have their own scooter and want early nights. See the Lazi and Maria guides.

Booking Tips

Check the tide

Many beaches turn into wide reef flats at low tide. Look at guest photos taken at different times of day before you book a "beachfront" room.

Ask about power

Siquijor runs on a diesel plant and power cuts are a regular thing. Ask whether the property has a generator. When the power goes, Starlink Wi-Fi usually goes with it, so the island is not ideal for full-time remote work.

Plan transport

If you won't ride a scooter, stay in San Juan, where you can walk or take short tricycle rides to dinner.
