About

Warung Siargao is the Indonesian restaurant at Siargao Island Villas in General Luna, doing authentic Indonesian food in a beachfront setting, with a menu built around rice dishes and the slow-cooked, deeply spiced cooking Indonesian cuisine is known for.

The Nasi Bugkus is the dish to order: a rice platter loaded with spicy beef rendang and chicken curry, wrapped and presented the way Indonesian rice packages traditionally are. The rendang in particular, beef slow-cooked in coconut milk and spices until the liquid is almost fully absorbed, is one of the great dishes of Southeast Asian cooking, and the version here is a credible one.

Indonesian food is almost entirely absent from the Siargao scene, which gives it a specific, useful role. The Nasi Bugkus is the definitive order, so don't overthink the menu, and if you want more, the chicken satay is a reliable starter.
