Mad Monkey Kitchen

Mad Monkey Kitchen is the restaurant and bar inside Mad Monkey Hostel in General Luna, a tiki-themed setup serving pizza, burgers, Filipino classics like tapsilog, and a bar menu that runs into the night. The hostel context gives it an energy standalone restaurants don't naturally produce, a diverse crowd of travellers in one place with the same loose agenda, which makes the bar as much a social venue as a drinking spot.

The food is built for the hostel crowd, filling, accessible, and broad enough to eat here for several days without repeating. The pizza and the Filipino breakfast plates are consistently the most popular.

The bar tends to be the real draw once the evening moves past 8pm, and it's one of the livelier social spots in General Luna during peak season. The tapsilog breakfast plate is the move, garlic rice, tocino, and egg at a hostel price, served earlier than most places in town.
