Catangnan BBQ is a no-frills grill shack in General Luna where the format is simple: smoky, sweet-sauced Filipino barbecue at prices that make it a local staple rather than a special occasion. Stick skewers, grilled meats, and cold Pale Pilsen, that's the experience, and it doesn't pretend to be more.

What it gets right is the grill. Charcoal heat and a sweet, dark sauce on skewered pork or chicken is a Filipino BBQ classic that can be badly or brilliantly done depending where you go, and here it's consistently the latter.
