Anahao Siargao

Anahao is a beachfront restaurant and beach club in Purok 1, Malinao, on the General Luna coast, set inside a resort of pale arches and thatched roofs that feels like a Mediterranean style beach club. A pool sits in the middle of the courtyard, daybeds run down to the sand, and the whole place glows with lanterns once the sun drops.

The kitchen cooks Asian comfort food built for sharing. Thai basil chicken arrives with a runny fried egg over rice, poached chicken comes Hainanese-style with a trio of dipping sauces, and garlic noodles get topped with crispy pork belly. Order a few plates with the garlic green beans and a tomato salad, and eat family-style on the long courtyard tables or on mats out on the grass.

It is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 9pm, and is a must check out for a Sunday afternoon cocktail. Come for a slow lunch by the pool or stay through sunset when the beach daybeds and bar fill up.
