Tawhay Resto Cafe is a roadside café and restaurant on the highway in Lala-o, San Juan, in the middle of the main strip between town and Solangon. It has recently been remodelled and is fully air-conditioned, with Starlink Wi-Fi, which makes it one of the easier spots on the island to sit with a laptop. It also serves breakfast for guests of the rooms next door.
The menu is long and roams from Filipino to Southeast Asian and Western. Beef rendang, shrimp curry and laksa are the dishes reviewers single out, alongside Chinese lemon fried chicken, pancit, corned beef hash and French toast at breakfast, and large smoothie bowls. Coffee is the other draw: the Spanish latte and iced lattes get praise from people who have tried a lot of espresso on Siquijor, and there are shakes and oatmeal brownies for an afternoon break.
Mains mostly run ₱300 to ₱450, such as ₱400 for the lemon chicken and ₱300 for pancit in mid 2026. Cards are accepted. Service is the weak point, with many reviewers waiting close to an hour for food at busy times, so come outside the meal rush. Order your coffee as soon as you sit down.
