RUNIK is an adults-only beach club and glamping resort on the low cliffs of Tubod, San Juan, on the Circumferential Road a short way from Coco Grove. Day visitors come for the pool, the jacuzzis and deep sunset lounges facing the Mindanao Sea, while overnight guests sleep in air-conditioned glamping tents. Plan on an afternoon rather than a quick meal.
The kitchen leans Spanish and Mediterranean. Recent reviewers single out the baby squid, gambas, ceviche, paella, margarita pizza and turon for dessert, and the cocktail list leans towards fruity vodka and rum drinks. Shisha is on offer at the bar. The music stays low, service is attentive, and the team will set up a private sunset dinner for anniversaries if you message ahead.
Entry rules are the thing to sort out first. Day visitors pay a door fee, and seating near the water, pool access and beach beds can carry separate charges, which have changed several times; ask what each area costs before you settle. Dishes run roughly ₱400 to ₱600 each. Book a sunset lounge through Facebook Messenger a day ahead, and arrive early, since check-in takes a while and the front lounges go first.
