The Bakehood Bakery & Cafe is a neighbourhood bakery and coffee shop at Door 2 of the Rara Building on Santan Street, Don Luis Village, in Barangay Central. It sits on the town side of Mati rather than out toward Dahican, which makes it an easy stop after a supermarket run, and it has been baking here since late 2025.
Bread is baked on site, and if you come around 10:00 AM you can watch the trays come out. The garlic cream cheese bun, milky cheese roll, cinnamon roll and chicken floss bread are the bakes people name, and the Mont Blanc and cookies have fans. For drinks, the Spanish latte is the favourite, with a banana latte and salted cream coffee for something different. The matcha is Kagoshima Yabukita, and many drinks use oat milk as the base.
It opens daily from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, which makes it one of the few places in Mati for good coffee late, and most people spend under ₱500. There is free WiFi and a quiet room for reading or work. Eat the milky cheese roll warm, as it hardens once it cools.
