Maganahay is the resto bar on the third floor of Adelina Hotel and Suites, the five-storey hotel on the National Highway in Madang, Barangay Central. By day its see-through wall panels look out to Mount Hamiguitan and Pujada Bay, and after dark it switches to low lights and music. Maganahay is the local word for comfort and contentment, which is the mood it aims for.
It is a drinks-first place, and the hotel bills its wine and cocktail list as one you will not find elsewhere in the city. The kitchen does local dishes with a modern twist, and the one to ask for is the smoked squid with dumang coconut sauce, which won the Kulinarya Oriental Fusion Cuisine Competition in 2024. There is an air-conditioned bar and an alfresco side, plus billiards and darts, and evenings have featured a live singer and open mic nights.
Open daily from 5:00 PM until 2:00 AM, one of the few late options in a city that goes to bed early. A 700 ml bottle of Fundador Light has been listed at ₱780. Call the hotel on +63 930 787 0063 to book a table for a group. Arrive before sunset to see the bay and the mountain through the glass, then stay on for the music.
