What information should I keep updated?

Some fields need attention constantly and others can sit for months. Knowing the difference saves you time.

Availability: the critical one

Your calendar is the thing that must be right. An out-of-date calendar leads to a booking you cannot honour, and a host cancellation carries real consequences: an automated review marker on your listing, financial penalties, or account suspension.

If you take bookings anywhere else, block those dates on Koobo the same day. If you use a channel manager such as Hospitable, keep the sync connected and check it periodically rather than assuming.

Pricing: seasonally

Siargao's demand swings hard. Peak surf season from September to November, the Christmas and New Year period, and Holy Week all justify different pricing from a quiet month.

Change prices ahead of demand. Raising a rate the week before peak season means most of those dates are already gone at your old price.

Photographs: after anything changes

A repaint, new furniture, a replaced scooter, a renovation. Photographs that no longer match reality generate complaints and refund requests.

Description: when it stops being accurate

If something you mention no longer exists, or guests keep asking a question the listing should answer, update it.

Documents: before they expire

Your business permit and any licence your operation requires. An expired permit can hold up a payout you were expecting.

Bank details: immediately

If you change bank or close an account, update it straight away. A payout sent to stale details fails and has to be reissued, and Koobo cannot recover funds sent to details a host supplied.

Contact details

So booking notifications actually reach you. Bookings confirm instantly, so the notification is how you find out a guest is coming.

A simple rhythm

Check the calendar weekly. Review pricing at the start of each season. Everything else, when something changes.
