Hosts on Koobo are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Koobo. Guests contract directly with you. That independence comes with a defined set of responsibilities.
Your listing
Keep the description, photographs, pricing, availability and rules accurate and current. A listing that oversells what a guest actually receives is the single most common cause of disputes and refunds.
Honouring bookings
Once a booking is confirmed, a binding agreement exists between you and the guest. Deliver it. Cancellations disrupt travel plans that are often built around your booking, and carry consequences ranging from a review marker to account suspension.
Delivering safely and professionally
Provide the service in a safe and professional manner, and give guests the instructions they need, whether that is check-in procedure, equipment use or safety briefing for an activity.
Legal compliance
You are responsible for holding and maintaining every permit, licence and registration your service requires, and for complying with zoning, safety, insurance and tax obligations. A business permit must be uploaded before you can receive payouts. Koobo may ask for evidence of compliance, and listings that cannot provide it may be removed.
Tax
You are responsible for your own tax and invoicing obligations on the income you earn. Koobo's commission is a platform fee, not a tax, and we do not file on your behalf.
Communication and payment on the platform
Keep conversations in Koobo messages and payments through Koobo checkout. Taking a booking off-platform that originated on Koobo is a breach of the host terms and can result in the commission being charged anyway, plus a non-circumvention fee, and possible removal from the platform.
Insurance
Koobo does not insure your property, your equipment or your liability as a service provider. Appropriate insurance is strongly recommended and is your decision to arrange.
