Is there a cost to list?

Last updated: September 18, 2026

No. Creating and maintaining a listing on Koobo costs nothing.

What you do not pay

  • No joining or registration fee
  • No monthly or annual fee
  • No charge for creating, editing or keeping a listing live
  • No charge for photographs or for appearing in search
  • No charge for a booking that is cancelled and never happens

What you do pay

Commission on completed bookings only:

  • Property accommodations: 12%
  • Activities and rentals: 17%

It is deducted from your payout rather than invoiced to you, so you never pay Koobo directly or in advance. Where Philippine law requires it, VAT may be added to the commission and will show in your payout breakdown.

Why it works this way

You only pay when Koobo has actually brought you a booking that happened. If we send you nothing, we earn nothing. That keeps the incentives pointed the same way.

It also means there is no risk in listing. A listing that sits unbooked costs you nothing but the time it took to create.

What you are responsible for

Your own costs of operating, your own permits and licences, and your own tax obligations on the income you earn. Koobo's commission is a platform fee, not a tax.

Where the fee goes

Commission covers platform operations, payment processing and development. Koobo also allocates a portion of the host service fee, up to 5%, to local community projects and environmental and cultural work in Siargao. The contribution tracker on the platform shows an approximate running total.

Can the rates change?

Koobo can adjust fees, but material changes come with reasonable advance notice, and bookings already confirmed settle at the rate that applied when they were made.
