How do I become a host on Koobo?

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Hosting on Koobo is open to anyone legally operating a stay, activity or rental in Siargao. There is no cost to list and no monthly fee.

The steps

  1. Create a Koobo account, or add hosting to the one you already use as a guest.
  2. Build your listing: description, photographs, pricing, availability, house rules and cancellation policy.
  3. Complete verification. Identity documents, and a business permit, which is required before any payout can be released.
  4. Add your payout details. A bank account in your name or your business's name.
  5. Submit for approval. We review listings before they go live.
  6. Take bookings. Guests pay Koobo upfront, and you are paid after each booking is completed.

What it costs

Nothing to join or to list. Commission is charged only on completed bookings: 12% for property accommodations, 17% for activities and rentals, deducted from your payout.

What you need in place

You are responsible for holding whatever permits, licences and registrations your operation requires under Philippine law and local regulation, and for your own tax obligations on the income. Koobo may ask for evidence.

What is expected of you

  • Keep your listing accurate and your calendar current.
  • Honour every booking you receive. Cancellations carry consequences.
  • Deliver the service safely and professionally.
  • Keep communication and payment on the platform.

Who this works well for

Koobo is built for Siargao specifically. Guests arriving here are looking for stays, activities and rentals on this island, which means your listing is not competing with thousands of others on the other side of the world.

Getting started

If you have questions before committing, email [email protected]. We would rather answer them upfront than have you build a listing that is not going to work.
