How do guest payments and host payouts work?

Last updated: July 30, 2026

Guests pay securely through Koobo when they book. Payments are processed through our payment partner Xendit and held until the booking reaches the payout stage.

This system helps:

  • Protect both hosts and guests
  • Confirm bookings before service is delivered
  • Reduce payment risk and cancellations

Payouts are released once:

  • The booking is complete (the guest has checked out, the rental has been returned, or the activity has finished).
  • The guest’s payment has settled to Koobo — GCash usually takes about 2 business days, and cards about 5 business days, after the guest pays.
  • Any disputes or issues are resolved (if applicable).

Payouts run in weekly batches, released each Saturday for bookings that are completed and settled by the Friday 11:59 PM (Philippine time) cutoff. If a booking is completed or settled after the cutoff, its payout moves to the next Saturday batch.

Your payout amount equals:

  • Total booking value (the original amount, before any guest promotional discount)
  • Minus host service fees
  • Minus approved adjustments or refunds (if applicable)

Guest promotional discounts (such as the 5% first-booking offer) are funded by Koobo and do not reduce your payout — your payout and our commission are calculated on the original booking value.

Hosts do not need to collect payment directly through the platform.
