Koobo processes payments through Xendit, one of the largest payment providers in Southeast Asia. That gives you a wide choice of payment methods, including options that work well for both local and international travellers.

The exact list you see at checkout depends on where you are and what Xendit supports for your location.
Everything is charged in pesos
All transactions on Koobo are in Philippine Pesos. If your card is denominated in another currency, your bank converts the amount at their rate and may add a foreign transaction fee.
Two practical consequences:
- The figure on your statement may differ slightly from the peso total you saw at checkout, because of the exchange rate your bank used.
- A card with low or no foreign transaction fees will cost you less if you are booking from abroad.
Koobo does not set these rates and does not receive any part of a foreign transaction fee.
Payment is taken upfront
Bookings are paid in full at the time of booking. There is no reserve-now-pay-later option, and you will not be asked to pay the host in cash on arrival for the service you have already booked.
The only things you might pay on the day are genuinely optional extras, a security deposit where the listing says so, or a government-mandated fee that was disclosed. Anything mandatory should already be in the price you paid.
Saving a card
You can choose to save a payment method for faster checkout next time. It is optional, and the card is stored securely by the payment provider rather than by Koobo.
Never pay outside the platform
If a host asks you to transfer money directly, do not. It is a breach of our host terms and it leaves you with no protection at all.
