What verification you need depends on whether you are booking or hosting.
Booking as a guest
For most bookings a confirmed email address is all that is required.
Occasionally our payment provider asks for more before confirming a booking, usually when something about the transaction looks unusual, such as a high-value booking from a new device or location. That might mean verifying your identity or confirming you own the payment method.
It is a fraud control rather than a judgement about you. If a booking cannot be verified, we may cancel it rather than let it proceed.
Hosting
Hosts go through more, because guests are trusting you with their money and their trip.
Identity. You may be asked for a valid government-issued ID, proof of address, or a live identity check. We may also ask for proof that you have the right to offer what you are listing, such as evidence you own or manage a property.
Business permit. Required before any payout can be released to you. This is not optional and not something that can be worked around.
Permits and licences for your specific service. You are responsible for holding whatever your operation requires under Philippine law and local regulation, and for keeping it current. We may ask for evidence, and listings that cannot provide it may be removed.
Bank details. The account must be in your name or your business's name.
How long it takes
Most host verification is reviewed within a few working days. Clear, legible documents that match the name on the account go through fastest. Blurred photographs and mismatched names are what cause delays.
Keep it current
If a permit expires or you change bank, update your dashboard. An out-of-date document can hold up a payout you were expecting.
