Siargao runs mostly on cash. Bring enough Philippine pesos, and don't count on cards once you're on the island.
Cash and ATMs
There are ATMs in General Luna and Dapa, but they often run out, especially on weekends and in busy months, and many charge a withdrawal fee. Take out what you need whenever you find a working machine.
Where cards work
Larger hotels, resorts, and some restaurants take cards. Smaller eateries, tricycles, market stalls, and most rental shops are cash only.
Your Koobo booking is handled separately. You pay for it online at checkout through our secure payment gateway, so that part is sorted before you arrive. The cash you carry is for day-to-day spending on the island.
